Project Cork-the-Tex – Development of Textile Substrates with cork incorporation

The Cork-the-Tex Project has an implementation period of 1 January 2014 to 30 June 2015.

With a total investment of 426 thousand euros, the Cork-the-Tex project aims the development of textile substrates incorporating cork.

The aim is to develop innovative, high performance incorporating simultaneously the properties of textile substrates and capital gains functional cork products.

The project is funded by the QREN, under the Operational Programme for Competitiveness Factors, amounting to about 294,000 EUR from the European Regional Development Fund.

The project includes the participation of SEDACOR promoter – exporting Society of articles of cork, Lda, and copromotores, TEXTILES PENEDO SA, CITEVE – Technological Centre for the Textile and Clothing Industries of Portugal and FEUP – Porto University – Faculty of Engineering.
