1924

At the age of 18, Mr. Jorge Pinto de Sá starts processing cork, exclusively manufacturing natural cork stoppers for the domestic market.

1955

Significant increase in exports. From 1955 the company, driven by the conquest of new markets, began a period of strong expansion.

1975

Construction of a new factory, on a plot of about 20,000 m2. This new manufacturing unit significantly increased production capacity and storage of raw materials.

The company SEDACOR - Sociedade Exportadora de Artigos de Cortiça, Lda. with the initial objective of producing and selling cork products not intended for the wine industry.

1979

In 1979 Mr. Jorge Pinto de Sá “pass the testimony” to his children. The company JORGE PINTO DE SÁ, Lda is constituted as a private limited company.

Creation of a modern laboratory to support the Quality Department and, at the same time, the R&D department.

SEDACOR acquires a manufacturing unit for processing cork waste, thus expanding its offer to granulated cork and agglomerated products.

JPSCORKGROUP appears. The creation of the group allowed production specialization and, therefore, the optimization of production processes with an increase in global efficiency.

Continuing with the product diversification strategy, a new manufacturing unit is created, SEDACOR – Unit II, for the production of agglomerated cork blocks and sheets.

Construction of a new unit in Ponte de Sor, with an area of ​​approximately 60,000 m2. This unit is responsible for selecting and preparing raw materials for the factories.
