Sedacor is proud of being AMA DESIGN partner in the development of cork solution CorkInsu® that is, with the Corian®material, innovative, beautiful and awarded washbasin Nature, AMA design that has just won the approval of a jury of 38 members of the Red Dot Award, having been awarded the High Quality Design‘ award in 2015 Product Design category.
In the most important competition in Product Design, that celebrates its 60th anniversary this year, AMA Design has proved its excellence, with the collaboration of Sedacor.
The award-winning washbasin Nature is a column basin, which combines two different materials. A high-tech – Corian®, and another with unique and natural features, CorkInsu®. cork. Corian® with antiseptic and antibacterial properties, allows the existence of a single piece without joints and without cracks. On the other hand, CorkInsu® cork, from Sedacor with unique properties that give it unparalleled character, is lightweight, waterproof, elastic and compressible, as well as , ecological, sustainable and recyclable, yet incorporating elements that increase its resistance to moisture, dirt, grease and abrasion. The combination of such different materials, elegance in design, ease of use and the feeling of closeness to nature are the qualities that make the experience truly memorable.
According to the jury, the washbasin with a slight drain on the inner rim is made of solid surface material Corian, which has antibacterial properties and is easy to clean. The natural cork material is resistant to moisture and impermeable to air. The whole column is light; however, it allows very good thermal and acoustic insulation. It can be installed in one single piece. Jury statement: “Easy installation in one piece demonstrates the sophisticated functionality. The combination of mineral basin with organic cork is an innovative feature. ”
The washbasin Nature and all Red Dot winners will be presented at the Red Dot Online, the Red Dot Design Yearbook, Red Dot at 21, and in the application for smartphones Red Dot App. In addition to these privileges, the winning products are mentioned in international activities of the Red Dot and exhibited at Red Dot Design Museum Essen for a whole year. The Red Dot Award was created by the Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen.
The prize-giving ceremony, in which more than 1,200 guests will be present, will take place in the Essen Aalto-Theater, on June 29, 2015
